What can I say about Kirsty and Monica? First of all, what an honour it was to capture this beautiful couple's wedding day. Inglewood Manor is a beautifully preserved Edwardian manor house settled in tranquil countryside surroundings. Kirsty and Monica made this spectacular venue a little bit more special with the love they share with each other and the fun, energetic atmosphere that filled the venue from morning until night.
First off, we have the bridal prep. Now, this isn't just about capturing the bride (brides) in all her pre-nuptial splendor. It's about those small, intimate moments that often go unnoticed. The mother's teary-eyed pride, the maid-of-honor's laughter, the anticipation in the room palpable enough to develop on film. This is the calm before the beautiful storm, a snippet of tranquility before the day unfurls. Having two photographers during prep is a huge benefit, especially in Kirsty and Monica's case. Both being brides getting ready at the same time, we can segregate ourselves by having one photographer with each bridal party, ensuring no moments are missed.
When possible we always try to capture Dads first look with the bride. It's always a magical moment when you see tears start to well up even in the most macho of mens eyes as they see their daughter for the first time in there wedding dress.
Then comes the ceremony. A seasoned photographer knows this is the heart of the wedding day. It's where we get to play the invisible observer, capturing the exchange of vows, the first kiss, the jubilant faces of guests. It's the tears and the joy, the nervousness and the relief, all coming together in a perfect shot. Another prime time of the day where having two photographers is a bonus is that it allows us to get multiple angles without being too much of a distraction.
A great example where having two photographers at your ceremony is paramount is that you want the same moments captured from different perspectives. Capturing both angles of this beautiful moment is something that just one photographer would find impossible to achieve.
After the ceremony, we like to give couples 15 minutes to greet guests and have a well-deserved drink. We then aim to start with the family formal pictures. Having these take place outside is always our first priority, especially at a location like the Grad Inglewood Manor, but living in England, there is always a chance of rain. We dont see this as too much of an issue, as we can always anticipate and find a suitable location inside to capture your family memories that Granny would be proud to pop on her mantlepiece.
Candid, natural, "in the moment" shots are always being captured throughout the day.
On to couple shots. This is the part of the day that a lot of couples don't look forward to, but when it comes to it, it's like a breath of fresh air for them. After all the buildup of emotions, nerves, and all eyes being on them, this is the first time that they can be with just each other, relax, and reflect on their wonderful day so far. This is the perfect recipe to capture these moments as they unfold and, when possible, adding some creative ideas. It was raining on Kirsty & Monica's special day but this didn't stop this beutiful couple, and we always carry some umbrellas.
Finally, we have the reception. The speeches, the first dance, the cake cutting. The reception is where the party starts. It's a riot of colour, emotion, and movement, and with the both of us being all hands on deck, we make sure we capture it all.
We always like to take the couples out for some evening shots. Especially when the rain has cleared and we are left with moody skys
